Velocity Without Compromise

Data Accelerators

Two months in and the project is still building workspaces, pipelines and naming standards from scratch. Our accelerators, including Xtract and Xscale, arrive with that foundation pre-built, so the effort goes into the part that is genuinely yours.

What Are Data Accelerators?

Most data projects spend their first two months rebuilding things somebody has built before: workspace structures, deployment pipelines, medallion scaffolding, naming standards, security patterns. Accelerators are our answer to that waste. They are the pre-built, battle-hardened versions of everything a Microsoft data project needs on day one, refined across our client base and deployed into your tenant, under your ownership.

Two of them have names worth knowing. Xscale is our Fabric capacity cost optimiser: it right-sizes capacities, schedules workloads and watches utilisation continuously. At Mount Anvil it cut Fabric platform costs by 80% against the original baseline, which turned a promising platform into a financially sustainable one. Xtract is our document and data extraction accelerator, combining Azure AI services with human-in-the-loop validation to pull structured data out of invoices, contracts and forms.

The rest of the library is less glamorous and just as valuable: medallion lakehouse templates, Power BI theme and semantic model patterns, governance packs aligned to FCA and PRA expectations, and DevOps pipelines that give a new estate proper ALM from its first commit.

One thing accelerators are not: a substitute for thinking. They compress the predictable eighty percent of a build so the effort goes into the twenty percent that is genuinely yours. And nothing locks you in; everything we deploy is standard Microsoft technology, documented and handed over.

  • Medallion lakehouse scaffolding with naming and layering standards
  • DevOps pipelines and ALM from the first commit
  • Security and workspace patterns that pass review first time
  • Deployed into your tenant, owned by you

Governance Frameworks

We implement governance frameworks for secure, compliant, and scalable analytics that protect your data assets while enabling self-service insights across your organisation.

Component Libraries & Templates

We provide component libraries, Power BI templates, and GenAI Studio integration that give your teams a head start on analytics, reporting, and AI-powered insights.

Customisable Insights & Scorecards

We deliver customisable insights, operational scorecards, and enhanced agility that enable your organisation to monitor performance and respond to changing conditions in real time.

Lower Total Cost of Ownership

Quick onboarding and reusable assets lower total cost of ownership, so the platform keeps paying its way without heavy ongoing overhead.

Common Use Cases

Where Data Accelerators earns its keep

Rapid Microsoft Fabric rollout

Stand up a governed Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse and Power BI workspace in weeks using our pre-built medallion architecture and DevOps templates.

Standardising Power BI

Replace inconsistent one-off dashboards with a reusable theme, semantic model pattern and scorecard library that every team can extend.

GenAI proof-of-value

Use our GenAI Studio accelerator to spin up a secure Azure OpenAI-backed assistant over your documents or data within a single sprint.

Regulated reporting

Deploy pre-tested compliance, risk and audit reporting packs that already reflect FCA, PRA and internal controls expectations.

M&A and new business units

Bring newly acquired entities onto a governed analytics platform in weeks, not quarters, using a repeatable onboarding blueprint.

Replacing legacy reporting

Retire aging SSRS, Cognos or Tableau estates with a Fabric-based target state that teams can run themselves.

How We Work

A proven delivery approach

  1. 01 Step

    Discover

Short workshops to map your use case, data sources and target outcomes against the right accelerator pattern.

  2. 02 Step

    Configure

Deploy the accelerator into your tenant, wire up sources and tailor governance, branding and security to your standards.

  3. 03 Step

    Deliver

Co-build the first value-generating workload with your team so adoption and knowledge transfer happen from day one.

  4. 04 Step

    Handover

Hand the platform to your engineers with runbooks, ALM pipelines and an optional Synapx-as-a-Service support wrapper.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a Synapx accelerator?

An accelerator is a pre-built, opinionated solution package – typically a combination of Fabric / Azure infrastructure-as-code, reference data models, Power BI templates, Purview policies and DevOps pipelines. We tailor the accelerator to your tenant rather than starting from a blank page.

How quickly can we be in production?

Most accelerator engagements deliver a production-ready environment in 3–6 weeks. The first business workload typically goes live within 6–10 weeks, depending on data readiness and approval cycles.

Do the accelerators lock us into Synapx?

No. Everything we deploy uses standard Microsoft services, open formats (Delta, Parquet) and documented patterns. Your team owns the code and the environment, and can extend or replace any component without vendor lock-in.

Can accelerators be used in regulated industries?

Yes. Our accelerators are designed with financial services, healthcare and public sector controls in mind – including Purview classification, private networking, customer-managed keys and audit logging. We regularly harden them further to meet specific regulator requirements.

What do we need to provide?

An Azure tenant with sufficient privilege to deploy resources, a named data owner, and access to the first few source systems. We handle the rest – infrastructure, configuration, governance and knowledge transfer.

Do accelerators replace a data strategy?

No. Accelerators execute a strategy faster; they are not a substitute for one. If you do not yet have a clear roadmap, we usually run a short Data Strategy engagement alongside the first accelerator deployment.
