Turning Ambition into Actionable AI Outcomes

AI Strategy & Opportunity Identification

Twenty AI ideas on the whiteboard, one budget, and no agreed way to choose between them: that is where most AI programmes stall. We score your use cases on value, feasibility, data readiness and risk, then hand you a funded roadmap your board can hold you to.

What Does an AI Strategy Engagement Deliver?

Every organisation now has AI ambition; far fewer have an AI decision. A strategy engagement exists to convert one into the other: which use cases get funded, on which build route, grounded in which data, governed by whom, and measured against what. If a strategy cannot answer those questions, it is a mood board.

The heart of the work is use-case identification. We sweep the business for candidate ideas, then score each one on value, feasibility, data readiness and risk. The scoring is deliberately unsentimental: the charismatic idea that arrives with an executive sponsor gets the same treatment as the unglamorous back-office process, and the back-office process usually wins the first slot.

Routes matter as much as use cases. For every funded candidate we recommend a build route: Microsoft 365 Copilot with proper adoption, a Copilot Studio agent, an Azure AI Foundry build on Azure OpenAI, or a pro-code multi-agent system where the complexity justifies it. Our practice builds on all four, including agentic systems on Claude as a registered Anthropic partner, so the recommendation is never shaped by what we happen to sell.

The output is an executive-ready roadmap with the first quarter funded and mobilised: two or three use cases in delivery, governance stood up, and a benefits framework that will tell you honestly whether it worked. Strategy and delivery come from the same team here, which keeps the recommendations grounded in what production actually demands.

What We Deliver

Key capabilities

AI Business Strategy and Corporate AI Strategy

Set the direction at board level: which problems AI is for, which it is not, and how success will be measured, so every later decision has something to answer to.

  • Use-case identification workshops across business lines
  • Scoring on value, feasibility, data readiness and risk
  • Build-route recommendation per use case: Copilot, Copilot Studio, Foundry or pro-code agents
  • Benefits framework agreed before anything is built

Enterprise AI Roadmap & AI Implementation Plan

Sequence the funded use cases into a plan with dates, owners and dependencies, so delivery starts within weeks instead of waiting for the perfect picture.

  • First quarter funded and mobilised, not just documented
  • Dependencies on data grounding and governance made explicit
  • Investment profile finance can actually sign off
  • Quarterly review rhythm so the roadmap stays honest

AI Transformation Consulting and Strategic AI Planning

Advisory from people who also deliver. The consultants shaping your strategy build Copilot, Foundry and agent systems for a living, so the recommendations survive contact with production.

AI Adoption Strategy & Digital Transformation Assessment

Understand where your organisation actually is: which teams are ready, which processes will resist, and what change support each rollout needs before it can stick.

AI Capability Audit & Organisational AI Maturity Assessment

An honest benchmark of what AI capability already exists in your organisation, what is duplicated, what is missing, and where the next pound of investment works hardest.

AI Skills and AI Infrastructure Assessments

Check whether your people and platforms can carry the roadmap: the skills gaps to train or hire for, and the infrastructure work to schedule before delivery needs it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does an AI strategy engagement take?

A typical Synapx AI Strategy engagement runs 4–8 weeks. By the end you have an executive-ready AI vision, a scored and sequenced use-case portfolio, a responsible AI operating model and a funded delivery plan for the next 6–12 months.

How is this different from a general management consultancy?

Our AI strategists work side-by-side with hands-on Microsoft engineers, data scientists and governance specialists. The roadmap we deliver has been pressure-tested against what can actually be built – and we can mobilise delivery the week after sign-off.

We already use Microsoft 365 Copilot – do we still need a strategy?

Often yes. Most organisations we see have pockets of Copilot and point AI solutions but no coherent plan for value, risk or capability. An AI strategy makes sure those investments add up to something, and that the next wave (agents, custom models, automation) is sequenced deliberately.

Who needs to be involved from our side?

A senior sponsor (CEO, COO, CDO or CIO), a data / IT lead, a risk or legal contact, and 4–8 business leaders from the areas in scope. We facilitate the workshops and do the heavy analysis between sessions, so the time commitment is light.

Do you cover responsible AI and regulation?

Yes, as a core part of every strategy. We map your ambitions against the EU AI Act, ICO guidance and sector-specific regulators (FCA, PRA, NHS DSPT, etc.) and embed responsible AI controls into the operating model from day one.

Can Synapx also deliver the strategy?

Yes. Most AI strategy engagements transition directly into delivery – Copilot rollout, agentic solutions on Copilot Studio, bespoke ML on Azure AI Foundry, or data foundation work in Fabric or Databricks – delivered by the same Synapx team.
