I am Thea Del Mundo, a marketing intern at Synapx. Recently, I had the privilege of touring TikTok’s London headquarters, an experience designed to provide valuable industry insights into one of the most popular social media platforms. During my visit, I explored TikTok’s culture, workspaces, and employee benefits. Synapx is dedicated to offering growth and innovation opportunities for its team, inspiring creativity, and broadening perspectives. 

Thanks to our Head of Operations, Maya Grozin, I recently had the remarkable opportunity to tour TikTok’s London head office. This visit to one of the world’s leading social media platforms was organized to give me valuable insights into the industry. At Synapx, I support our marketing and social media efforts, focusing on Instagram and TikTok. 

Despite challenging weather and fire alarms at TikTok on the day of my visit, I made the most of the opportunity. A TikTok Category Manager for TikTok Shop gave me a comprehensive tour, encouraging me to “take as many pictures and videos as your heart desires.”

During the tour, I delved into TikTok’s dynamic culture and innovative strategies. I explored various floors, workspaces, and employee benefits, and received a box of goodies from TikTok’s previous PR packages to share with the female employees at our London office.

I returned with impressive insights into TikTok’s ethical business practices and expressed my gratitude for this incredible learning experience. As the Category Manager highlighted, TikTok “takes great care of them.” The building features diverse workspaces, eating areas, meeting rooms, quiet pods, and a rooftop view over London’s biggest fish market, complete with lounging chairs for employees needing a break. Each floor has a café near the elevator offering free refreshments and snacks, as well as a daily-changing food buffet. The facility also includes a mailing room and lockers for personal packages, and TikTok covers gym memberships at a nearby gym. Each floor boasts unique aesthetics, and the meeting rooms have humorous names. 

From this amazing experience, I gained valuable knowledge about TikTok’s innovative strategies and ethical business practices. I established connections with my tour guide, which could be beneficial for future collaborations and career growth. I learned about TikTok’s work culture and employee benefits, which can enrich Synapx’s corporate culture. This can foster a more creative, dynamic, and employee-centric environment, boosting morale and productivity. I was inspired by TikTok’s vibrant culture and diverse workspaces; by adopting some of TikTok’s innovative practices and employee-centric benefits, we can foster a more dynamic and creative work environment. This not only inspires our current team but also positions Synapx as an attractive employer for future talent. Overall, this experience underscores Synapx’s commitment to growth and innovation, benefiting both individual team members and the company.
